The project
Desktop and mobile point-of-sale systems processing real sales in stores nationwide. The hybrid mobile app sat on an ageing Cordova toolchain that had fallen behind Android platform requirements — a rewrite was off the table, so the toolchain itself had to be brought forward.
What I did
- Maintained the Angular/Ionic POS applications and their Java services.
- Modernised the Cordova build toolchain to meet current Android requirements without rewriting the app.
- Delivered advanced fixes across the POS stack, verified end-to-end against store workflows.
- Shipped releases through Azure DevOps pipelines and release trains.
Where it landed
The mobile POS kept shipping on supported Android tooling with no rewrite, and the store-facing systems stayed stable through the changes. Client screenshots are confidential, so this one is described rather than shown.
